The Improv Sessions

The Improv Sessions is an ongoing online-video collaboration project between dancers and filmmakers which aims to showcase talent and unique style in both art forms whilst encouraging an appreciation of improvisation. Originally founded by dancer and choreographer Alison Thomas and filmmaker Tommy Rowe in 2016, the project was started as a challenge for both collaborators to improvise simultaneously in their different mediums and hopefully create something wonderful in the process.

Rachel was lucky to work with The Improv Sessions during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2018 and shot two very different improvs at the famous Grassmarket.

Filmed by James Montgomery.

Check out Alison Thomas's website for more information on The Improv Sessions.
